Alice R. Graybill, 98, Cando, ND formerly of Bisbee, ND died Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Towner County Living Center, Cando.
Alice Rose Graybill, daughter of Charles and Emma (Strigel) Bursinger was born on February 28, 1911 at Bisbee. She attended country school, graduating from the 8th grade. She married Robert Gerrard in 1930. To this union four daughters were born. In 1940, she married Raymond Graybill at Rolla, ND and had one son. They moved to the Maler farm south of Bisbee. In 1951 they moved into Bisbee.
She was a member of the Bisbee Lutheran Church, of which she was custodian for 17 years. She worked at the Chocolate Shop Café for 21 years. She later moved into the “Triangle Apartments”, living there until she entered the Towner County Living Center, Cando. She enjoyed being with people – belonging to Homemakers Club, Seniors Club and Senior Center. Alice loved to garden, raise flowers and strawberries. She also enjoyed playing cards and scrabble as well as crochet.
She is survived by her son Charles (Cecelia) Graybill, of Rolla, ND and Daughters: Delores Geisen, of Cando and Joan (Dan) Schwan, of Cannon Falls, MN, daughter-in-law: Rose Graybill, of Washington. Other survivors include several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents, daughters: Betty Schwan and Marjorie Granholt, sister Irene Bursinger, brother Leo Bursinger, sons-in-law: Wayne Munson and Farrell Geisen, stepson Ray Buster Graybill and stepdaughter Faye Graybill Lavino.
Funeral Service: Thursday, October 8, 2009 11:00 AM Bisbee Lutheran Church, Bisbee, ND
Visitation: Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 and for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday
Interment: Bisbee Lutheran Cemetery, Bisbee
