Charles S. Cagle, 89, of Munich, ND, and formerly of Fall City, Washington passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND. No services will be held.
Charles Samuel Cagle was born November 20, 1921 to Paul and Grace (Parkhurst) Cagle in Dixon, CA. He grew up and attended school there. He received an honorable discharge from the Department of the Army after serving three years in World War II where he received the World War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He worked at Georgia Pacific for 25 years on the green chain in Toledo, OR. He then moved to North Bend, WA where he worked 22 years in many different areas for Weyerhauser. He then retired.
Charles is survived by a son: Charles Samuel Cagle Jr. of Salem, OR; “adopted” son Michael Anderson of North Bend, WA; two daughters: Claudia Sue Marthaller of Salem, OR; Kathryn Lee Thompson of Munich, ND and son-in-law Gary W. Thompson of Munich, ND. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a loving wife.
