Gladys Parker

 

Gladys V. Parker, 78, of Cando, ND died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND.

Gladys Viola Sundeen was born April 3, 1931 at Devils Lake, ND to Milton and Cecelia (Huset) Sundeen. She grew up and attended school at Alexandria, MN. She moved to Cando with her family where she attended high school. On June 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Frank Parker at Cando. Gladys helped Frank with many jobs and project including building the house the couple has lived in to this day. Gladys was a member of the Futorian Club and 20th Century Homemakers Club. She loved to garden; especially roses and other flowers, and work with arts and crafts. She also enjoyed singing in the community choir and was a gourmet cook. She and Frank also loved to travel.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 62 years, Frank, two sons: John (Paula) Parker and William (Kathy) Parker, both of Plymouth, MN; five grandchildren: Andrea, Alicia, Scott, Derek and Ryan; five great-grandchildren: Treyton, Daniel, Vienna, Carly and Milena. Other survivors include her two sisters: Amy Nelson of Colorado Springs, CO and Ruth Ann Sandbakken of Cando. Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her brothers: Marvin, Henry and James.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at United Methodist Church of Cando at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church

Interment: None

Sorry to hear of your Mother's passing, John & Bill and other family members.  You probably don't remember me but am a couple years older than John.  May God grant you peace in this sad time.
