Helen L. Johnson, 65, of Mandan, ND, formerly of Egeland, ND passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Medcenter One Mandan Living Center in Mandan, ND.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery in Egeland, ND.

Helen Louise Johnson was born September 18, 1945 at Cando, ND to Andrew "Okie" and Ethelyn (Paulson) Johnson. Helen was a free spirit, often reminding those who knew her to cherish the “simple things in life” from picnics in the park, road trips with loved ones, to indulging in an ice cream cone from Dairy Queen with her dad were at the top of Helen’s “Favorites List.” Visits from her family were the highlight of her day. Her eyes sparkled like diamonds when her mother or sister would come to visit. Helen spent most of her pastime listening to her love of music on CDs. She will be remembered for her unbelievable spirit and her contagious smile she shared with everyone she met. Another angel earned her wings!

Helen is survived by her sister: Janice Becker of Bismarck, ND, several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Duane Johnson and Roy Johnson; sister-in-law Opal Johnson and a brother-in-law Herbert Becker

Memorials are preferred to the Union Cemetery in Egeland, ND
