INEZ ELSIE MOORE

 

Inez E. Moore, 84, Cando, ND died on Monday, September 7, 2009 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Inez Mortimer was delivered by a midwife on a farm near Sarles, ND on November 28, 1924 to George and Ethel (Kays) Mortimer.  She was raised in the Calvin/Sarles area and graduated from Sarles High School.  She met and married Karl Moore on November 28, 1944.  They farmed east of Calvin, ND and raised 5 children.  In 1970 they moved to Cando, ND   and owned and operated Moore’s Mini Market.   Inez worked at various stores in the Cando area after the sale of the grocery store.  She belonged to Eastern Star for many years.  She was also an avid bowler for which she has many trophies, ribbons and pins.  She spent most of the last 15 years doing sewing and alterations, which she loved dearly.  Her main love in life was being with her family and friends whether it was meeting at Dee’s Café for breakfast, or having the time of her life with her family at BBQ’s, special occasions or no occasion at all.

Inez and Karl had five children:  Terrence (Jacque) Moore, Mayville, ND;  Vicki (Dean) Mutcher, Buckley, WA; Lanny (Dianne) Moore, Rock Lake, ND;  Kerry Moore, Cando, ND; Karla Moore, Minto, ND; 16 grandchildren:  Sean Moore, Jill Carter, Stephanie Winterquist, Tara Ulbricht, Jaime Richardson, David Moore, Lance Moore, Chad Moore, Nicole Moore, Brittany Moore, Jason Moore, Darby Moore, Abby Moore, Danette Miller, Kristin Domier, Dilan Tibert; 21 great-grandchildren:  Tatum and Thyus (Sean); Ryan (Jill); Trevor and James (Stephanie); Adele and Anders (Tara);  Kaiden , Jairet, Sailor (Jaime); Seth and Ecko (David); Carley and Kansas (Lance); Ethan (Chad); Dominique, Amaziah and Benjamin (Nicole); Tamarra and Ayden (Danette).

She is survived by her children, grand-children, great-grand children and one sister, Marion Kuster of Spokane, WA.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; parents, George and Ethel Mortimer;  brothers:  Kenneth, Charles, and Dick; sisters:  Elaine Logan, Carol Jean Brotvold and Donna Mae Keller; grandosn Derek Moore; great- grandson Terryn Moore.

Funeral Service: Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Cando Lutheran Church, Cando

Visitation: Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home, Cando and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Interment: Corinthian Cemetery, Calvin, ND at 4:00 PM on Friday

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials donated to the UFFDA Animal Fund

I was deeply sorry to hear of the death of Aunt Inez and very much wish I could be there to pay my respects. Please, know that I am praying for dear Aunt Inez and you, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Your loss is very much in my thoughts.

Hi cousins, I am Earle W. Schafer's daughter, Dawn. So sorry to hear of your mothers passing. My mom just died in Aug.so know I am thinking of you kids at this time.
