Kermit Edwards

Kermit Edwards, 74, of Fargo, and formerly of Bisbee, ND, passed away July 7, 2013, at his home in Fargo.

Kermit was born July 11, 1938, at Fargo, ND. He was raised on the Edwards Family farm near Bisbee where he received his education. He moved to Los Angeles, CA as a young man where he worked at a service station for one year. He returned to Bisbee and what would be his lifetime career of farming the Edwards Family Farm.Kermit and Yvonne (Klier) Halone were united in marriage on June 10, 1961. Kermit became an instant family man with four children: Michelle, Greg, Linda and Carole Halone. Kermit and Yvonne then welcomed a son, Al, to the family. They lived and raised their family on the farm. Kermit and Yvonne spent over 50 years there before moving to Fargo in 2012 for health reasons.

In his younger years, Kermit enjoyed curling, hunting, fishing, extended happy hours and sports and was known for being a prankster.

Kermit was a charter member of the Bisbee Curling Club, serving as coach of the 1983-84 ND Junior Men’s curling team. He was a part owner of Dutch's Bar from 1990 to 2004. He also worked for Charlie Dix in the Dix Funeral Home of Cando for many years, was a member of the Bisbee Lutheran Church, a District Fire Board member and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bisbee Farmers Elevator Co-op.

In his later years, Kermit enjoyed spending time with his family, had a love of reading, and was known for watching westerns both day and night. When his health continued to decline, Kermit exhibited true grace and maintained a positive attitude. Despite his physical limitations, he focused on what he could still do and enjoy. Being surrounded by his family with a Bison game on the television made him happy.
