Ida Klipfel, 94, Auburn, NE formerly of Cando, ND died November 25, 2009 at the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, NE.
Ida Weisz daughter of John Weisz and Christina (Aman) Weisz was born on August 24, 1915 in Lehr, North Dakota. She was one of 13 children born to this union. Ida was raised around Egeland, ND. She attended rural school through the 8th grade.
She was united in marriage to Edward Klipfel on October 30, 1933. To this marriage three children were born. They farmed near Calio, ND until 1940. Ida and Edward then ran a Bar and Café. In 1956 they bought a farm near Egeland, ND where they farmed until retiring in Cando, ND in 1978. After retirement Edward and Ida enjoyed camping, and traveling. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her great-grandchildren gave her the nickname newnanny. Edward passed away on March 3, 1995. In 2004, Ida moved to Auburn, NE.
She was a member of the Cando Lutheran Church and an associate member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn, NE. Due to sudden illness Ida passed away on November 25, 2009 at the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, NE. She had reached the age of 94 years, three months, and one day. She was preceded in death by her parents, ten brothers and sisters, and her husband Edward.
Those left to celebrate her life are her children, Darlene Olson of Auburn, NE, Violet Newman and husband Lawrence of Auburn, NE, Ken Klipfel and wife Cheryl of Fergas Falls, MN, ten grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, one sister Hertha Klipfel of Cando, ND, and a brother Albert Weisz of Lacey, WA, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
