Clara “Babe” Marie Bulman, 79, Cando, ND died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Towner County Living Center in Cando.
Babe was born November 15, 1930 in Cando, ND to Helen (Mohn) and Ernest Urness. She attended school in Cando and graduated from Cando High School on June 2, 1948. She married Arlis Bulman on June 27, 1949 in Churches Ferry. They farmed west of Cando until Arlis’s death on December 12, 1993. Babe helped on the farm and was known around the neighborhood for her brown molasses buns. She was active in craft club, circle, birthday club, and homemakers. She was well-known for sewing and crafts. She worked as the craft lady at Rest Haven for several years. After Arlis died she moved to Cando in 1994. She lived in Bismarck by her son Scott’s family for two years before returning to Cando to live at the Towner County Living Center.
She is survived by her children Lee (Lori) Bulman of Cando, ND, Trudy (Richard) Anderson of Aberdeen, SD, Scott (Tammy) Bulman of Bismarck, ND, Todd (Wendy) Bulman of Grand Forks, ND, Regge (Monica Suua) Bulman of Venice, CA; sister Marilee Israel of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren Andrew, Jessica and Bailee Bulman, Amanda (Rob) Brewer, Andrea (Burke) Kline, Jack Bulman, and Brenna Bulman; great-grandchild Ellie Kline, and brother-in-law Gilbert Champagne.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arlis; infant son Kerry; parents; sister Sharon Urness; and great-granddaughter Cora Brewer.
