Elsie Hartl, 90, Cando, ND, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Towner County Medical Center in Cando. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cando.

Elsie Hartl was born February 12, 1921 to Ludwig and Christina (Schultz) Wagner on a farm north of Cando, ND. During her growing up years, the family moved to various farm sites until the passing of her dad. She then moved with her mother to Cando until her mother’s death. Elsie lived with her sister Lydia until January 22, 2001, when she became a resident of the Towner County Living Center in Cando. Elsie enjoyed farm life and loved all animals, though her big love was for dogs and cats.

Elsie is survived by sisters: Lydia Eggl and Carman Hartl of Cando, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Louie and George Wagner.
