Are my options direct cremation or full traditional funeral with burial?
Each person and family is unique and their needs during a time of loss are too. There are very few rules in funeral service and very few can be broken. There is no need to feel restricted by the two above options.
Cremation and burial are simply forms of disposition. Disposition can occur at the beginning of the process resulting in burial or cremation and then services or it can happen at the conclusion of the services. Any combination of services can be combined with disposition in order to create a truly meaningful experience for all involved. Regardless of which type of disposition is chosen, most families choose to have some time with the deceased, additionally some choose to have some community time and then a service in our chapel or house of worship. Our Rental caskets are commonly used when a family wishes to have cremation at the conclusion of the services.

What happens if there is a death away from home?
This is actually a very common occurrence. When a family calls the funeral home from their home area there is rarely a significant delay or cost. Their home funeral home calls a colleague in the area where the death occurred and asks them to pick the person up at the place of death. The home funeral home overseas the filing of any necessary papers and then arranges for transportation. Flights are currently costing around $550.00 from most parts of the country. This and any land transportation are usually the only additional cost a family incurs. The home funeral home insures that the process runs efficiently and smoothly.
