Agnes Klier

Agnes Klier, 91, formerly of Perth, North Dakota, died Friday, March 25, 2011 at the hospital in Roseau, Minnesota. She had been residing at the Sheltering Oaks Nursing Home of Roseau.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rolla, ND. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Perth Cemetery in the spring.

Agnes was born at the family farm in rural Perth on May 27, 1919 to Frank and Mary (Wolter) Potratz.  She attended a rural school (Howell) through the 8th grade.  She was well-known for her hard work on the family farm and also worked at the Nicholas Store in Perth. On March 22, 1951 she married Leo Klier of Perth. They farmed near Perth until retiring in 1997. In November of 1998 Leo and Agnes moved to Roseau, MN to be near their daughter, Debra (Brad) Teubner, and her family. Agnes was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Perth, serving in various capacities over the years. Her church was important to her, as was her family. Her homemade cookies were well-known to neighborhood kids and her coffee pot and a plate of bars were always ready for company.

She is survived by Debra and Brad, grandchildren Katherine and Michael Teubner, and many loving nieces and nephews. Her husband, Leo, preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings:  Albert (Grace), Elsie (August) Steen, Hilda, Herbert (Mildred), Annie (William Job) Barker, Hattie (Otto) Lentz, William (Laura), and Minnie (Chris) Amann.
