Stanley W. Halverson, 56, Cando, ND died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at his home in Cando.
Stanley “Stan” Wayne Halverson was born February 15, 1953 in Cando to Glenn and Norma (Olson) Halverson. He attended and graduated from Cando Public School in 1972. On October 23, 1976, Stan married Judy Vote in Cando. Stan and Judy farmed for several years in the Cando/Egeland area. Currently, he was employed with the Towner County Highway Department. Stan was a member of the Egeland Lutheran Church.
Stan enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends and especially enjoyed watching his sons play football. His many talents included displaying big game antler mounts and fixing anything that was broken. Stan’s family and friends brought him many joys, as he brought happiness to all he knew. He will be greatly missed by everyone who shared his life.
Stan is survived by his sons, Cameron and Preston Halverson, his mother, Norma Halverson, sister, Janice (Mike) Weisz, brothers: Donald (Lorna) Halverson, Larry (Brenda) Halverson, all of Cando and Jeffery (Diane) Halverson, of Devils Lake, ND. In addition, he is survived by brothers-in-law: Daryl (Carolee) Vote and Terry (Tamme) Vote and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Stan in death was his father, Glenn Halverson.

Visitation: Monday, February 1, 2010 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home, Cando and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday
Prayer Service: Monday February 1, 2010 7:00 PM Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home, Cando
Interment: Union Cemetery, Egeland

Our sympathies to the Halverson family at this sad time. So often I would meet Stan coming to work when I would be starting on my morning walk. I will think of him always when I go by the county shop. Norma, please know your son was special to so many.
