Adeline Fay Lunde's Obituary
Adeline Fay Lunde, 74, of Cando, ND, passed away September 8, 2013, at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.
Memorial Services will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cando Lutheran Church in Cando with Rev. Bonnie Weaver officiating. Interment will follow the fellowship at South Ox Creek Cemetery, Rolette, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Adeline was born October 7, 1938, inPortland, ND, to Arthur and Tillie (Groven) Rux. She was raised and educated in Portland and at a very young age she married Dean Vangen which ended in divorce. She then married Melvin Lunde on April 6, 1965 and resided in Rolette, ND,where they raised 8 children. Adeline worked at the hotel in Rolette for many years. She was a very hard worker and loved her family very much. In Sept 2000, Adeline suffered a stroke and because of her poor health,she moved to Cando in 2002 with her son Ron, who took care of her until her passing. Melvin passed away November 8, 2003. Adeline liked to read Harlequin Romance books, play bingo, andcard games with her family. She enjoyed country music, cooking, and baking for her family. She was the best cook and baker in the world, according to her children. Soap operas and the Outdoor Channel with hunting show were a favorite of hers on television. Lastly, she loved and cherished her family get together with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Adeline is survived by her children: Terry (Lori) Lunde of Fargo, ND, Darlene (Terry) Hajicek of Rolette, ND, Penny (Don) Holden of Centerville, MI, Allen (Sheila) Lunde of Rolette, ND, Ron Lunde of Cando, ND, Peggy (Jeff) Schooler of Lakota, ND, Molly (Mike) Jundt of Balta, ND; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Arden (Marlys) Rux of Mayville, ND; sister Joy (Curly) McLain of Hatton, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, daughter Bonnie Vangen, twin infant daughters, two infant sons, brother James Rux, and sister Grace Charette
