Andrew "Andy" Isaacson, 87, Cando, ND passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Towner County Living Center in Cando, ND.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January, 23, 2015 at Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando in the spring. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Military Honors will be provided by the Hal Parker Post #79 Cando American Legion and North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team. Casket bearers will be Dan Holien, Donovan Holien, Dan Lipp, Tim Holien, Duane Holien and Bruce Klingenberg. Honorary Bearers will be the Isaacson Family, Friends, Veterans, Employees of Towner County Living Center and to all those who knew and loved Andy. Music will be provided by Roberta Mundahl.

Memorials are preferred to Cando Lutheran Church, Towner County Living Center or the American Legion Auxiliary.

Andrew "Andy" was born March 29, 1927 in Cando, ND to Stephen and Ida (Tennyson) Isaacson.
Andy was raised in Cando, North Dakota. Andy went to Metcalf School and graduated from Cando High School in 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and proudly served until 1946. Many of Andy's friends knew him by the nickname of 'Zeke'. Andy loved God, his country, his family and friends and his home town of Cando. Andy worked at Sammy's Clothing, various construction jobs and later as the area Veteran's Service officer. He attended as many Cando sports functions as he possibly could. Andy was also a volunteer fireman, liked to bowl, sing in the church choir and enjoyed going to movies. Over the years, Andy attended numerous American Legion conventions across the country. Andy loved spending time with his friends, especially hunting and outdoor activities with the Holiens. He also loved spending time with family, nephews and nieces (and they with him). Andy was honored with a celebration of his life on 'Andy Sunday', November 3, 2002 and he was so grateful for this honor. Many loved Andy. He had a pure heart and greeted everyone with a smile. He will be greatly missed.
Andy is survived by his Sister-In-Law Yvonne Isaacson, Minot; Cousins David Isaacson, Fargo and Marilyn Isaacson Tarkiainen, Sherwood, OR; Nephews Paul Isaacson, Minot, Richard Isaacson, Garrison, Wade (Deb) Isaacson, Mandan and Niece Jill Isaacson of Minot.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Ida Isaacson brother, Maurice G. Isaacson, aunt, Ella Isaacson and cousin John Isaacson.
