Anna E. Schwandt, passed peacefully of natural causes on December 21, 2024 at Towner County Living Center, Cando, North Dakota. A Candlelight Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday December 27th at the United Methodist Church in Rock Lake with Dr. Timothy McDowell officiating. The internment service will be scheduled at a later date.
Anna was born on March 21, 1934, in the Village of Hansboro, North Dakota to Jacob and Marie (Fox) Hendrickson. She attended grade school in Hansboro. On April 12, 1950, she married Dave Feil. They welcomed three children, David B., Barry W. and Carol J. Dave passed on April 10, 1958.
She married Wayne Schwandt on September 10, 1960 and she joined him on the Schwandt Family farm with her children there they stayed until well after their retirement. They welcomed three girls, Dollie A., Janet M. and Diane K. Wayne and Anna enjoyed traveling across the country on various summer vacations visiting family. After retirement, they would spend their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona enjoying time with friends. Wayne passed on February 20, 2021.
Grandma Ann loved her children (6), grandchildren (19), great-grandchildren (28) and great-great grandchildren (5). She loved taking them camping, supported them at their activities, swimming with them, snowmobiling, going for walks up to "the hill" and baking. She was proud of each and every one of them.
She enjoyed baking, crochet, embroidery, pinocle, gardening, dancing and listening to Elvis Presley music. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed clothes for her girls, cheerleading outfits, prom dresses and even bridesmaid dresses. And there wasn't anything she couldn't do and she did it well. Caramel rolls, donuts and popcorn balls were some of her families' favorites.
She was devoted to her church and her love of God. She was active in the United Methodist Ladies Aid, VFW Auxiliary and ABC Homemakers.
She is survived by her children, David (Terri) Feil, Rock Lake and Houston, TX, Barry (Colleen) Feil, Garland, TX, Carol (Rodney) Parvey, Sarles, Dollie (Robert) Becklund, Bad Medicine Lake, MN, Janet (Douglas) Carnahan, Rock Lake, Diane K. Schwandt, Rolla; and her grandchildren, Traci Feil, Jessica Feil and David, Jr. (Jennifer) Feil, Ryan (Heather) Feil, Christopher and William Feil, Natasha Parvey (Art Leskowich), Melanie Parvey (Jim Schnack) and Christel Parvey (Wade Price), Carey (Rod) Hoerer, Nicholas Becklund, Aaron Becklund, Alexander (Lindsey) Becklund, Jamie (Jesse) Bucholz, Micheal Carnahan, Shawn Carnahan, Zachary (Kiley) Cahill, Dexter (Jacie) Cahill, Jacob Cahill, 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her sister, Doris (Russell) Clark and her brother Chuck (Pat) Hendrickson and a son-in-law Teddy Cahill.
