Ardella Mae Carlson, 87, of Crookston, MN, formerly of Cando, ND, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the Church. Music will be provided by Roberta Mundahl and David Kildahl. Casket bearers will be David Kildahl, Rich Clauson, Chris Kildahl, Craig Carlson, Bob Carlson and Kenny Carlson. Honorary casket bearers will be Clifford Nelson and Tennis Sievert.

Ardella Mae Allen was born September 18, 1927 at International Falls, MN to Arthur and Mabel (Wibe) Allen. At the age of six months, the family returned to Bisbee, ND. Ardella attended Bisbee Lutheran Church and was confirmed there. She graduated from Bisbee High School. On January 30, 1947 she was united in marriage to Ivan Carlson at Bisbee. The couple lived in Cando after their marriage and Ardella worked part-time at various stores in Cando before beginning a twenty-nine year career at the Social Service Office at the Courthouse in Cando. Ivan passed away on August 2, 2005. After her retirement, Ardella continued to live in her home for two more years then moved into a condo in Cando and lived there for another seven years before moving to Crookston, MN to be closer to her family. Ardella was a member of Cando Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children Don (Belinda) Carlson of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Gloria (David) Kildahl of Crookston, MN, Mark Carlson of Fargo, ND, grandchildren Scott and Amy Carlson of Denver, CO, Chris (Susan) Kildahl of West Fargo, ND, Carrie (Rich) Clauson of Crookston, MN, Craig (Kayla) Carlson of Fargo, ND, Jennifer Carlson of Fargo, ND, step grandchildren April (Paul) Hagen and Jason Hartman of South Dakota and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Wesley Allen.

Memorials are preferred to Cando Lutheran Church.
