Ardis B. Hunter, 83, of Cando, ND, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX. Services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10am at Cando Lutheran Church in Cando with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando. Masks are required at the service. Music will be provided by Gladys Fluge. Casket bearers will be Gene Rosinski, Dan (Coupe) Holien, Sheldon Apgar, Luke Benson, Edwin Benson and Peter Bjornstad.
Memorials in Ardis's name are preferred to Uffda Fund for Animals, P.O. Box 454, Cando, ND 58324.

Ardis (Ardie) B. Benson was born May 21, 1937 to Helen and Edwin Benson in Cando, ND. She was raised on the family farm, attended school and graduated with the class of 1955 from Cando.
Following graduation Ardie attended colleges in Valley City, N.D. a nd Miles City, Montana where she received her degree as a registered nurse.
June 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart John Hunter in Cando. To this union of 37 years 4 children were born, Scott, Bruce, Eve and John.
Ardis was a true farm girl, assisting on the farm with many chores until she left to follow her quest for higher education. She was an excellent equestrian, wild game hunter, and animal lover. She and her beloved dog Heidi traveled many miles together. Above all else, she was a devoted, caring Mother, steadfast sister, grandmother and friend, showing kindness to others was her mantra in life.
During her marriage to John, whose profession was Superintendent of National Park Services, the Hunter family lived many places, some included Missoula MT, Bad Lands, SD, Hyde Park NY, Salisbury MD, Los Alamos NM, Corpus Christi TX, and Cando, ND. Wherever the family called home, Ardie cultivated friendships with many interesting people from all walks of life.
She changed professions at a later date, and received her Realtors license, which she pursued until her beloved husband's death.
Following John's death May 14, 1977, Ardie moved back to Cando, spending her summers here, and winters in Corpus Christi, TX.
Ardis loved to cook and entertain, many times friends or family gathered around her dining room table in her lovely home to share laughter and camaraderie. She brightened lives with her twinkling eyes, gentle way, bright smile, her zest for life was infectious.
She is survived by her loved children, sons Scott Hunter, Bruce (Anastacia) Hunter,
daughter Eve Hunter (Rich) Spaid, and son John (Linda) Hunter. Grandchildren Lee, Dustin, Jessie, Tim, Erin, Tana, Shelby, Monica, Melissa, many nieces and nephews, brothers David Benson, Hilman (Joyce) Benson, and many friends, all who will grieve at her death, but rejoice with her celebration of life, and the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, mother- in-law Byrdie Hunter, sister Nona Benson Berg, brother-in-law Jim Berg, and sister-in-law Bea Benson.
