Arnold Fluge's Obituary
Arnold Fluge, 82, of Cando, ND, and formerly of Egeland, ND, passed away July 18, 2013, at the Towner County Living Center of Cando, ND. Arnold was born May 25, 1931 in Starkweather, ND, the son of Sam and Ethel (Franson) Fluge. Arnold's father purchased a farm in Paulson Township in Towner County when Arnold was in the seventh grade. The family then moved to Egeland, where Arnold attended school, graduating
from Egeland High School in 1950. After high school, Arnold started farming with his father.
In a small community, one has the opportunity to participate in many decision-making organizations. Arnold was a member of the Lakeview Lutheran Church Council, served on the Union Cemetery Board, and he helped organize and served on the Farmer's Union Oil Company for 16 years. Arnold was also a director, from 1971 to 2009, of the Heartland Care Center, formerly known as the Lake Region Lutheran Home, in Devils Lake, ND.
In 1975, Arnold married Gladys Fluge. They lived on the farm in Egeland until they moved to Cando in 2010. Arnold moved to the Towner County Living Center in 2012.
He is survived by his wife Gladys, children: Brian, Eugene and Tara, grandchildren: Ashley, Daniel, Thomas and Trevor, and sister Donna Fluge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Arliss Jensen and brother Duane.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Lakeview Lutheran Church of Egeland, ND, at 12:30pm.
