Carl B. Dyste, Jr., 82, of Churchs Ferry, ND, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014, at his home in Churchs Ferry. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the Cando Assembly of God Church in Cando, ND with Pastor Michael Rohrer officiating. The eulogy will be given by Carl's nephew, David Bolinske of Minot, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM with a 7 pm family prayer service and time of sharing all at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando. Visitation on Thursday will be for one hour prior to the service in the church. Casket bearers will be Jim Burcham, Rick Burcham, John Burcham, Rick Bolinske, David Bolinske, Jim Bolinske, David Stahl and Steve Beaudoin. Music
will be provided by soloist Claudette Carlson, pianist Faye Huffman, and a special song for Carl by nieces Pat Forsman and Marg Ricci. Interment will be at the Churchs Ferry Cemetery.

Carl B Dyste, Jr., was born June 20, 1932, at home in Maddock ND, to Carl and Addie Dyste. Carl was raised in Maddock, and attended Maddock Schools. Carl worked for the Farmers Co-Operative Creamery Assn, in Maddock, as well as the movie theater. Carl and Beverly Bolinske were married on September 4, 1949. They lived in Devils Lake, ND for a short time where he worked for Fairmont Creamery. They returned to Maddock where he was employed by the Creamery Association. On June 1, 1956, Carl and brother Gene Dyste, purchased the Crossroads Service and Cafe. Carl and Gene were in partnership until December 31, 1985 when Carl retired. Although retired, Carl worked part time for BTR Elevator and several area farmers. Seemed that whenever BTR put Carl on waivers, one of his farmer friends would sign him to a new contract. Carl had a positive impact on each person that observed his work ethic, or spoke with him, and he touched the lives of many.
Carl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Churchs Ferry until its closure where he was President of the Church Council and also served as treasurer. Carl was also a memeber of Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, and served on the Thrivent Board. Carl enjoyed family fishing trips, the cabin in Manitoba, grandchildren, and helping others.
Carl is survived by his son: Mike (LaVonne) Dyste of New Braunfels, TX; daughters: Debbie Dyste of Minnewaukan, ND and Jan (Steve) Flaniken of Denver, CO; 9 grandchildren: Alissa Dyste, Shannon Holt, Katrina Oldham, Heather Frank, Ryan Gibbens, Wes Gibbens, Jessica Flaniken, Haley Flaniken and Jennifer Dunn; 11 great-grandchildren: Harmony Dyste, Morgan, Addison, Gavin & Bella Holt, Mila Oldham, Anthony Wentz, Hunter Frank, Kaydence Gibbens, Sydni & Cameron Dunn; sister: Bonnie (Bruce) Grimes of Butte, MT and brother Gene (Agnes) Dyste of Churchs Ferry, ND.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, parents, sister Fern, sister Doris, father in law Emil Bolinske, mother in law Lillie Bolinske, and brother in law Kenneth Burcham.
