Charlotte Luverne was born February 25, 1921 in Crookston, MN to Elmer and Mildred Gamme (Propp). Charlotte's grandparents were Theodore and Elise Propp (Aamodt) and Anton and Berlina Gamme (Ogaard).
Charlotte grew up on the family homestead located east of Beltrami, MN. Charlotte married Glenn Olson, as she describes it, on a terribly hot August 1, 1941. Glenn worked at several elevators in Minnesota and North Dakota before he and Charlotte and two infant children, Carol (one year) and Lyle (3 weeks) moved to Cando on another hot, windy day in August 1946. Charlotte and Glenn would make Cando their home for the next 64 years. It was in Cando that the family grew to include Donna, Mark, Gayle and Roger. In Cando Charlotte made many cherished lifelong friendships and her home was always open to everyone. Charlotte was most at home in the kitchen and loved to invite friends for Sunday dinner or just a cup of coffee and a delicious carmel roll. When not in the kitchen Charlotte enjoyed many hobbies including embroidery, croqueting, hardanger, sewing and numerous crafts. She also enjoyed volunteer work and helped with many community school and church projects.. Charlotte was a long-standing member of Cando Lutheran Church, was a member of the Futorian Club, Entre Nous Club, PTA, Hospital Auxiliary, Ladies Aid and was a charter member of the 20th Century Homemakers Club organized in 1954.

In September of 2010, Charlotte and Glenn moved to Fargo to live with their son, Lyle.
