Clariece G. Jore, 84, of Devils Lake, ND, formerly of Cando, ND passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Casket bearers will be her grandsons Chris Chandler, Travis Jore, Jason Peters, Cody Peters, Ben Jore and Connor Triplett. Honorary Bearers will be all of Clariece's friends and family. Music will be provided by Lynette Lybeck and Roberta Mundahl.
Clariece Johnson was born August 23, 1932 in Fordville, ND to Clarence and Bernice (Disselbrett) Johnson. Clariece attended and graduated from Dahlen High School in Dahlen, ND. She married Henry Jore on September 23, 1951 at Quale Lutheran Church Rural Fordville, ND. They lived in Union, ND. They moved to Cando in 1967. She was a dedicated and valued employee in the Health Services Industry in Cando for over 30 years. She made many quilt tops for Cando Lutheran, enjoyed tending her flowerbeds, spending time and keeping up to date with her family and was a tremendous host at family holidays. Clariece was a member of Cando Lutheran Church. She moved to Devils Lake in 2015.
Clariece is survived by her children: Patricia (Harvey) Metzger of Langdon, ND; Michael (Lynn) Jore of Slidell, LA; Ronald Jore of Moorhead, MN; Jeffrey (Terri) Jore of Becker, MN; Katherine (Carl) Peters of Perth, ND and Jeanette (Geoff) Johnson of Northfield, MN; 14 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren; sisters Beverly Anton of Park River, ND; Shirley Zahradka of Grand Forks, ND; brother-in-law Thelmer Jore of Grand Forks, ND; sister-in-law's Mildren Romfo of Langdon, ND; Nora Romfo of Walhalla, ND and Mary Johnson of Minneapolis, MN. Clariece was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry; son Harvey, brother Elvin, many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
