Daniel John Lipp, 71, of Cando, ND passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando, ND. Music will be provided by Joni Morlock. Honorary Urn Bearers will be all the members of the Cando Fire Department. Urn Bearers will be Don Haugen, Eugene Hammer, Ryan Olson, David Dennis, Joel Sand and Kenneth Grande.

Daniel John Lipp was born January 16, 1948 in Cando, ND the son of John and Evelyn (Jacobson) Lipp. He grew up in Cando and graduated in 1966 from Cando High School. He attended Valley City State College. He returned to Cando and did carpentry work and built many of the homes in Cando. Danny continued to do carpentry work until he passed away.

Danny served on the Cando Fire Department for 25 years and even was the Chief for a time and was very involved with the Dakota Rifle & Pistol Club, teaching hunters' safety and teaching kids marksmanship. He enjoyed working at his shop, gardening, woodworking, fishing, and building birdhouses for purple martins.

Danny is survived by his sister; Lynda (Ron) Olson of Gilbert, AZ; nephew; Ryan Olson of Minneapolis, MN and niece Julienne Olson of Fargo, ND and many cousins and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
