Daryl was born on August 19th, 1966 to Harry and Delores (Berginski) Vote in Cando, ND.

He attended Egeland School, later becoming Bisbee-Egeland School, where he graduated with the class of 1984.

Daryl grew up on a farm north of Crocus with his family, where they farmed, had cattle and most weekends were gone showing horses. Daryl had a deep love for the land and enjoyed the Ag Industry. Eventually retiring from operating his own farm/cattle operations and began working for Legacy Cooperative (formerly Cando Farmers Grain & Oil) where he was still employed as of the date of his passing.

Daryl married the love of his life Carolee Campbell on September 4th, 1999, in Cando, ND. They stayed in the Egeland area and lived on a farm north of Egeland. On May 21, 2012, they welcomed their daughter Alayna Lee and a short 18 months later on September 10th, 2013, welcomed their son Hunter Lee.  His family was the absolute joy of his life.  He was a very hands-on daddy and the absolute best husband a girl could ever ask for. We feel so blessed to have had the time with him that we did and will miss him dearly, as will his many friends, extended family and co-workers. You could always count on him taking the time to visit with really anyone, especially his customers.  He simply enjoyed his job, customers and coworkers and would offer any advice he could to help them out. You were never to small of a farming operation for him to happily help out in any way he could.

Besides his love for his family, Daryl had a huge passion and love for hunting, guns, ammo, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ford vehicles. He owned and operated DC Firearms. He loved to hunt anything and everything and had many, many enjoyable hunting events with his family and friends. Along with hunting, some of his other pastimes in the day were bowling, reloading and pool.  He had this unexplainable great hand/eye coordination, which made him quite the competitor.

Dary was simply a great person inside and out! He met and made many, many friends over the years. He has been described as a big teddy bear and I believe that to be true because a hug from him was the best!

Daryl is survived by his wife, Carolee; their daughter Alayna Lee; their son Hunter Lee; sister, Judy Halverson; brother, Terry (Tammie) Vote; brother-in-law's; Kardell Blake, Anthony Warbitsky; sister-in-law's, Amanda (Jon) Whithead, Alicia (Michael) Fenner, Abbie Warbitsky & Becky (Olson) Campbell; nephews, Preston (Heidi) Halverson, Cameron Halverson, Jesse(Jill) Vote, Cody Vote, Michael (Erin) Campbell, Keaton Olson, Garrett Fenner, Ascher Whithead and Dylan Warbitsky; nieces, Megan (Garrett) Vote, Shelby (Jared) Campbell, Krista Campbell, Briauna Fenner, Skylar Olson and Jocelyn Whithead. 5 great nephews and 1 great niece, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
