David L. Martin, 80, of Rock Lake, ND passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at his home in Rock Lake, ND.  Services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Rock Lake Community Center in Rock Lake, ND with Reverend Scott Ramey officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hansboro Cemetery

David Leroy Martin was born on November 28, 1944 in Rolla, ND to George and Ethel (Adams) Martin of Hansboro, ND. He was raised and attended school in Hansboro. After he finished school, he worked side by side with his father on the family farm East of Hansboro.

David and Ella Faye Davis were united in marriage on June 5, 1967. They began their married life living in Hansboro before moving to Rock Lake in 1968.  They were blessed with 6 children: Rodney, Robert, Vicky, Jacqueline, Kevin, and Kimberly. David began working as blade operator for the Towner County Road Department in December 1977. He retired in January 2021, after 44 years of service.  Upon retirement, he took on several mowing jobs, keeping him busy during the summer and fall. David enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing pinochle almost every morning with the group at the Legacy station in Rock Lake, watching Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, and old westerns, and relaxing on his favorite corner of the deck. David was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and grand-dogs.  He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ella Faye of Rock Lake, ND; His children: Rodney (Karla) of Rancho Mirage, CA; Robert of Rock Lake, ND; Vicky (Terry) Arvidson of St. John, ND; Jacqueline of Rock Lake, ND; Kevin (Mary) of Rock Lake, ND; and Kimberly of Grafton, ND;  6 grandchildren: Misty Burchill, Janie (Eric) Kramer, Morgan and Mason Arvidson, and Olivia and Emma Martin; 4 great-grandchildren: Gracelyn, Memphis, Clyde, and Luke; sister Carrol (Duane) Mechels of Great Falls, MT; brother Edwin (Bette) Martin of New Brighton, MN; sister-in-law Doris Martin of Cando, ND; and mother-in-law Margaret Koistinen of Rock Lake, ND.

David was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ethel Martin and his brother, Gary Martin.
