Dolores M. Geisen, 85, of Cando, ND, formerly of Bisbee, ND passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Trinity Hospital in Minot. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando, ND with Fr. Daniel Musgrave celebrating the mass. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND with a 6:00 PM rosary. Burial will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Bisbee, ND in the spring. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Music will be provided by Gladys Fluge, Tom Freund and the Sacred Heart Choir. Casket bearers will be Rodney Bursinger, Craig Granholt, Jim Ostrom, Brad Munson, Al Geisen and Kelly Bursinger.

Dolores was born March 10, 1931 in Bisbee, ND to Robert & Alice (Bursinger) Gerrard. After graduating from Bisbee High in 1949, she attended one year at the Business College in Minot, ND. On January 29, 1951 Dolores married Farrell (Dutch) Geisen at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bisbee. They were partners in the operation of the Chocolate Shop Café until it sold in 1964 and Dutch's Bar which they owned from 1953 to 1991. Dolores was active in the church, serving as president of the Bisbee Ladies Auxiliary for many years & played in the bell choir. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Homemakers Club and the Bisbee Senior Citizens. She was once employed at the Bisbee Community Credit Union. Dolores was an active member of the Bisbee Curling Club and was the skip when she and her teammates won the Women's ND Curling Championship in 1967 at Park River, ND. She loved working outdoors, raising a big garden and many flowers from which she did floral arrangements for the church for many years. She enjoyed socializing, attending church, ceramics, playing cards and bingo with her wonderful range of friends. She moved to Cando in 2007 with Farrell passing shortly after. She also loved to bowl and especially enjoyed walking her neighbor's two dogs, Oscar and Lily until her eyesight worsened. Dolores moved to Prairie View Estates, an independent living center at Cando, in 2015. She was especially grateful for the help of Karen Krueger. After suffering a stroke in Aug. 2016, she moved to the Minot Health and Rehab nursing home where she spent the remainder of her days.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Holly (Randy) Arneson, Minot, ND; sister Joan Munson (Dan Schwan), Cannon Falls, MN; and sister-in-law, Cecilia Graybill, Rolla, ND; Nephews - Al (Deb) Geisen, Bismarck, ND; Wayne Geisen (Kris Keith), Toledo, OH; Kevin Schwan, Santa Rosa, CA; Rodney Munson, Pagosa Springs, CO; Craig (Lavonne) Granholt, Christine, ND; Brad (Janet) Munson, Cannon Falls, MN; Nieces - Donna Schwan (Bain Cheshire), Pleasant Hill, CA; Vicki Munson, Mpls, MN; Laurie (Jim) Ostrom, Fargo, ND; Karen (Neal) Doying, Darien, CT; Raelene (Brett) Grimmer, Grafton, IL; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father Ray Graybill, husband Farrell, sisters Betty Schwan, Margie and brother-in-law Ben Granholt; brother-in-law Wayne Munson, half-brother Charles Graybill and special friend, Lorraine Evans.
