Doris Eileen (Zentz) Berg, 96, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Cando, ND passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Bethany Nursing Home in Fargo. Doris was born August 15, 1921 to William and Clara (Johnson) Zentz on the family farm that her Grandfather homesteaded west of Cando, near Zion, ND. She grew up and attended grade school at Zion and later graduated from Cando High School in 1939. She then attended Victorian Beauty School and worked at Orchid Beauty Shop in Grand Forks, ND. She returned to Cando and married Edward Berg on October 28, 1942. They farmed west of Cando until retiring in 1988. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, hardanger and many other various projects. Edward died on May 18, 1994 and she left the farm and continued living in Cando until moving to Fargo in April 2011. She was a lifetime member of Cando Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons, Keith (Genny) Berg of Fargo and Marc (Karla) Berg of Rosemount, MN; four grandchildren, Ami (Andrew) Saueressig of Rochester, MN, Ryan Berg of Fargo, Kayla (Dan) Wesser of St. Louis Park, MN and Marci Berg of Grand Forks; three great grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia Saueressig of Rochester, and Abagail Berg of Fargo. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Clifford, Lloyd, John and one sister Janice.


A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in the spring at Cando.
