Dorothy Grace Musolf, age 89, formerly of Cando, North Dakota passed away on Saturday December 28, 2013, in Amberg, Wisconsin.

Dorothy was born in Clyde, North Dakota on October 31, 1924, the daughter of Eugene and Roxetta (Cain) Price. Dorothy grew up near Clyde, North Dakota and was educated there. Dorothy began working at a young age for various families in the Clyde and Egeland area. Dorothy was united in marriage to William, (Bud) Musolf on October 22, 1943 at the farm where Bud's parents lived. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Teddy Township, Towner County North Dakota; they then moved to Cando in 1967.

Although they lived in town, Bud and Dorothy continued to custom combine in the northern Benson and Towner County areas with Bud in the combine and Dorothy in the truck. While living in Cando, Dorothy worked at many places, including The Johnson Store, the Durum House, Style Shop, Cando Public School, and in her later years she worked at Cando Furniture and Floor Covering. She also owned and operated The El Dora café in the early to mid-1970s.

Dorothy loved many things and had a particular fondness for children, Christmas, and flowers. Dorothy and Bud were not blessed with children of their own, but their home welcomed the laughter of children. Many nieces, nephews, and neighborhood children enjoyed time at Dorothy's home. She could step over and around toys spread on the living room floor with grace. Dorothy enjoyed each holiday, but Christmas was her favorite.

She set up an elaborate Christmas village in her front porch which was popular among children and adults alike and there was always room on her Christmas tree for one more ornament. Dorothy planted and grew flowers with passion. She appreciated any time her hands spent digging in the dirt and relished the opportunity to have little hands help her.

Dorothy enjoyed her coffee crowd friends in addition to numerous neighbors. She loved when they stopped in to hear a story of good times or bad times. Dorothy had a love for reading and read through the articles in the newspaper nightly. She was a member of the Cando Lutheran Church. Dorothy spoke of Bud often and missed his company.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Mel (Shirley) Price of Amberg, WI, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; parents, Eugene and Roxetta Price; five brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3rd, 2014, at Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Family and friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in the spring at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando. Casket bearers will be Adam Held, Chris Houle, Gary Olson, Sig Bjornstad, Josh Bracken and Justin Bracken. Music will be from Lisa Held and Christina Hunt.
