Edward L. Goergen, 91, of Cando, ND, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando, ND with Fr. Joseph D'Aco officiating. Burial will be in the spring at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cando. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Casket bearers will be RJ Miller, Tom Weaver, Ron Anderson, David Roles, Gerald Roles and Keith Dammen.
Mary Lynn Johnson will be the reader and gift bearers will be Debbie Birr and Mary Lynn Johnson. Music will be provided by Tom Freund, Gladys Fluge and the Sacred Heart Choir.

Ed was born December 31, 1924 in Euclid, Minnesota to John Goergen and Mae (Helm) Goergen. He attended school in Mentor, Minnesota and moved to the Egeland area in 1945 at the age of 21. Ed married Ceceilia Roles on October 28, 1947 in Calio, North Dakota. He worked for the Towner County Highway Department in Egeland for a few years and then moved to Cando, ND in 1959. Ed started working for Miller Gravel in 1961 and worked there until his retirement. One of the highlights of Ed's life was winning a 1950 Oldsmobile car. He also loved hunting, fishing, spending time at the lake and spending time with his family.

Ed is survived by his wife Ceceilia of Cando, ND; his sons Garry (Billie) Goergen of Rawlins, WY and Clint (Marie) Goergen of Cando, ND; his grandchildren Wade (Cecilia) Goergen of Denver, CO, Annette (Chris) Waller of Rawlins, WY, Kim (Jerome) Flores of Rawlins, WY, Tim (Amy Jo Hohrez) of Minot, ND and Trevor Goergen of Cando, ND; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert and sisters Dorothy and Ann.
