Elizabeth Hartl, 89, of Cando, ND, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Towner County Medical Center in Cando. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando with Fr. Daniel Musgrave, celebrant, on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church with a 10:30 A.M. rosary.  The visitation and service will follow CDC recommended restrictions regarding the Coronavirus. Music will be provided by Tom Freund, Gladys Fluge, and the Sacred Heart Choir. Casket bearers will be Barry Heisler, Bill Hartl, Chuck Hartl, Bob Gaffrey, Joel Anderson, and Nate Keller. Burial will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cando following the service.

Elizabeth was born June 25, 1931, to Pius and Dorothy (Ripplinger) Heisler. Elizabeth married Alfred Hartl on September 20, 1949 in Cando. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Cando, moving there in 1980. They retired in 1990. Elizabeth was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando.

Elizabeth is survived by her children: Terry (Jean) Hartl of Detroit Lakes, MN, Cindy (Wayne) Keller of Valley City, ND, and Annette Bjornstad of Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren: Nate (Ali) Keller of Valley City, ND and Jessie (Rocco) D'Orazio of Kuna, ID; four great-grandchildren and three great step-grandchildren; brother: Steve Heisler; and sisters: Annie, Lena, Delphine and Clara.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Matt; and sisters: Francis, Rose and Amelia.
