Erich Rabe, 88, of Cando, ND passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Towner County Living Center in Cando, ND where he has lived for the past several years. His survivors include sons Bruce (Shiela), Erich (Linda), three grandchildren, Alexandra, Erich and Sativa.

Erich was pre-deceased by his wife Jackie and eldest son Rudi. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan in 1931 to Rudolph and Agnes (Lindner) Rabe and educated in Houghton, Michigan. He served in the US Army, stationed in Maryland.

He married Jackie Burns in 1953. They lived in Michigan, Ontario and Prince Edward Island before moving to Cando, North Dakota in 2000.

Erich's hobbies included metal work and wood-working. He made many pierced metal lanterns and wooden folk-art objects that Jackie would then paint. In recent years he spent many hours creating intricate designs with colored pencils and playing solitaire on his computer.

In accordance with Erich's wishes there will be no funeral service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends wish to honor Erich's memory, donations may be given to Father's Farm, 7620 48th Avenue NE, Wolford, ND 58385 ( www.fathersfarmnd.org ) or a charity of one's choosing.
