Everl Erickson, 75, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Cando, ND passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2016 at Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando. Burial will be in the spring at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Casket Bearers will be Tom O'Brien, Lyle Johnson, Lloyd Winnegge, Mike Jorde, Gary Rader, Garth Eggl, Mike Weisz, Sonny Schmidhammer, Bill Hartl, Lyle Nelson, Gary Dilges, Phil Deplazes and Brent Heisler. Music will be provided by Roberta Mundahl and Catherine Anfinson.
Everl Lee Erickson, son of Alfred & Vivian Erickson was born September 12, 1940 in Aurora County, Plankinton, SD. He died on February 20, 2016 in Fargo, ND at the age of 75.
Everl was raised on a farm in South Dakota until he was eight years old, and then the family moved to Perth, ND. In 1952 the family made their home in Cando, ND. Everl attended Cando Public School, and graduated in 1958. Everl was a boy scout, and played in the Cando High School Band. Everl graduated from UND in 1967 with a degree in business administration.
In 1967 he married Carol Lorraine Johnson. The couple made their home in Cando, where Everl was employed with Jorde Brothers Potato Company as the business administrator. Together the couple was blessed with three children: Wesleigh, Andrea, & Heather. Everl was very active in the Cando Lutheran Church, and the Cando community. Everl had a deep appreciation of music, both instrumental and vocal. He loved hunting and fishing, and was very family-oriented.
After thirty-eight years, he retired in early 2000. Everl had Parkinson's disease, and spent several years in various nursing homes. He passed away as a resident of the Bethany Senior Living Center in south Fargo.
Everl is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Carol; son Wesleigh (Kari); daughters Andrea, and Heather (James) Fuchs; grandchildren Anika & Hayden Erickson; Brierre & Drew Fuchs; brother Ronald (Betty); sisters Myrna (Lyle) Nelson, and Alice Ann Stange; as well as nephews and nieces, Stephanie and John Erickson, David, Scott and Karen Nelson, and Gretchen Pederson, plus several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Vivian; aunt Eurana Fast; brother-in-law Dale Stange; and one cousin, Madelyn Hill.
