Florence was born in Bisbee, ND on May 20, 1932 to Ole and Carrie (Halvorson) Hendrickson. She was the 4th of 7 children and was raised and attended school in Rock Lake.
Florence married Robert Hallaway on September 22, 1947. They made their home in rural Rock Lake, where they farmed.
Florence was a great farm wife who enjoyed canning, cooking, and baking. Visitors always were welcomed and fed well. Florence's most rewarding calling was when she first started volunteering at the Towner County Hospital. She later worked there and the Nursing Home for a career that lasted 40 years. She was a great caregiver.
She enjoyed embroidering and made a set of dish towels for each of her children and grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was reading cookbooks. She always had to try new recipes. She also enjoyed hopping in the RV and traveling to Battle Lake, Minnesota for family Christmas in July, where she enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and laugh. She was also up for driving around town to enjoy the sights.
Florence was a lady of strong faith in God, which helped her through many hardships and losses in life.
Florence is survived by 3 children: Linda Trydahl (Jim Anderson) of Wahpeton, ND and Gloria (Kim) Albert of Minot, ND; Kim (Barb) of Rolla, ND; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Sheila (Dennis) Specht of Bismarck, ND and many nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; sisters Rosie, Dorothy, Sylvia, and Donna and her brother Donald.
