Helen Pulst's Obituary
Helen Pulst, 76, of Cando, ND, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND.
Helen Klug was born May 24, 1936, at Northwood, ND to Ernest and Goldie (Baker) Klug. She was raised and educated at Niagra, ND. Helen went on to Valley City State for three years, earning a degree in Nursing. She began her nursing career at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake. Helen was united in marriage to Elmer William Pulst on October 11, 1959 at Devils Lake. They made their home and farmed near Garske. Helen was active on the farm and continued nursing until her children were born.Helen worked as a cook at the Starkweather School, as a janitor at a Day Care Center in Devils Lake and worked for the Domestic Violence Center in Devils Lake. Helen began her career with American Family Insurance in Devils Lake and eventually transferred to the Cando American Family Agency. Elmer passed away in July of 1987.
Helen is survived by her children: Donna (Kenny) Gubrud of Minot, ND and Kevin (Lisa) Pulst of Windsor, CO; grandchildren: Christopher Pulst and Nicholas Pulst; step-grandchildren: Josh Gubrud and Jessica Gubrud; four great-grandchildren; siblings: Beverly Parrott of Colorado, Harold (Donna) Klug of Iowa, Fred (Cathy) Klug of Minnesota and numerous neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant son Greg.
SERVICES Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 2:00pm, at the Cando Methodist Church with the Reverend Rick Craig officiating.

Kevin, Donna and family, sorry to hear about your Mom. I have so many fond and funny memories of our parents getting together years ago. They snow mobiled together, played aggravation and of course enjoyed all the good cooking your mom did. I know how hard it is to lose your Mom, they are always the "glue" that holds the family together.
