Janet Elizabeth (Becker) Reed, 86, of Cando, ND passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Towner County Living Center in Cando ND.   A memorial service will be held at the Christian Fellowship Church, 620 3rd Ave, Cando, ND at 2:00 PM July 24, 2024 with Pastor Jeff Peters officiating.  A closed casket visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Christian Fellowship Church. Interment will be at the I.O.O.F Cemetery following the Memorial service.

Janet was born June 20, 1938 in Cando, ND to Alloyd and Madeline (Piper) Becker.

Janet attended school in Cando, ND.  Janet married Duane Reed on January 13, 1956 in Crookston, MN.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Janet loved to cook and was known for her ability to cook delicious meals for large groups of people. She enjoyed chickens and sold eggs on a regular egg route. She also owned and operated a day care in Cando for a number of years. Janet and daughter Phyllis owned and operated a ceramic shop in the basement of her house, crafting hundreds of pieces of ceramic. She also taught classes on ceramics. Janet had many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and bird watching.

She is survived by children Norman (Rhonda) Reed of Canyon Lake, TX, Phyllis (Dean) Bubach of Alsen, ND and Carol (Bryan) Knutt of Rock Lake, ND, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sister Karen Jones and brother Robert Becker both of San Antonio, TX, sister Kimberly, sister and brother-in-law Diane & Kenny Teubner and sister-in-law Janice Reed of Cando, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alloyd and Madeline Becker, sister Marrietta and brother Bruce who both died in infancy, husband Duane Reed and a grandson Christopher Reed.
