JoAnn Cose, 71, of Minot, N.D., formerly of Egeland, ND, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Minot Health and Rehab in Minot, ND. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 15th at Vincent United Methodist Church, 1024 2nd St. SE, Minot, ND at 11:00 am with Pastor Mary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Casket Bearers will be Slade Helde, Travis Winnegge, TJ Winnegge, Mark Barrett, Cecil Williams and LeRoy Bachmeier. Honorary Bearers will be Devan Winnegge, Mason Barrett and Dylan Helde. Music will be provided from Colleen Schwan and Marcy Witteman. For those not able to attend, the church will be streaming the service through their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/VUMCminot. Lunch will be served after the service. Burial will be held on June 15, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Ellison Cemetery, 95th St. NE, Rock Lake, ND with Pastor Mark Frueh officiating. A fellowship gathering will be from 5-7 pm at the Egeland Community Center following the burial.

JoAnn Cose, daughter of John & Arlles Rose, was born on September 26th, 1946. She grew up on a small farm just North of Flaxton, ND. She graduated Flaxton High School in 1964.
As a young adult she lived in Minot and worked at JCPenney's Downtown, and at the Minot VFW. She attended college at Minot State University, and in 1974 she started her career at the Minot Air Force base as a civilian. She started in Supply, and eventually worked her way up to the Ground Safety Officer at the Minot Air Force Base.
On May 25th, 1979 JoAnn married John Cose at the Minot Air Force Base. From 1979 to 1988 they lived in Glenburn, ND. In 1988 they moved to Honolulu, HI and lived there until 1990, then they moved to Maryland. In 1992 they moved back to ND and lived in Egeland until 2012 when she moved to Minot.
After moving back to Egeland, ND JoAnn worked at the Vining convenience store in Cando, ND, and at the Post Office in Egeland, ND.
In 2012 JoAnn moved to Minot and lived at Dakota Terrace apartments. Every community she lived in she found her way to the kitchens in their church. Most recently she was active in her church at Vincent United Methodist in Minot. She made many friends in the kitchens at the churches, and many members thought her caramel rolls were among the best. You could find JoAnn at all of her kid's sports events, band concerts, and other activities. Her house was a revolving door where all the kids in town were welcome to stop by. She always made sure they had enough to eat and felt like they were part of the family. Many kids in town would refer to her as Mom. JoAnn loved to go camping and could not wait to get her motorhome down to Mouse River Park, where she would stay in her motorhome all summer. And in the winter, she would sneak away to Arizona for a month or so, where she would visit her sister, and many cousins that were spending the winters there.Her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren grow, and hearing about their new adventures and achievements. She loved to hear about how well they were doing in sports and school, and her fridge was covered in magnets from the grandkids sporting activities. She loved to spoil the grandkids with her baked goodies (especially caramel rolls).
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and her infant daughter (Melissa).
She is survived by her son Slade (Florence) Helde of Minot, and 2 daughters Kristine (Travis) Horace, ND & Denielle (Mark) Grand Forks, ND. Her sister Sandra (Cecil) Williams, Marshall MO, and 6 grandchildren TJ & Devan Winnegge, Mason & Delani Barrett, Dylan & Isabel Helde, and several nieces and nephews.
