John Rader, 100, of Cando, ND, passed away December 21, 2013, at the Towner County Living Center of Cando.

John was born October 22, 1913 at Cando, ND, to Charles P. and Bernice (Tower) Rader. He graduated from Cando High School and the University of North Dakota. John married Darleen Zollner on December 24, 1941. He served in the US Army Air Force from 1943 to 1946. John was self-employed as an accountant. He also worked in the Register of Deeds office and as County Veteran's Service Officer until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the American Legion and served on the City of Wahpeton Adjustment Board.


John is survived by his brother, Charles (Dorothy) Rader of Cando, ND.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 2:00pm at the Dunnigan Dix Funeral Home of Cando, ND. Visitation will be at the Dunnigan Dix Funeral Home on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Hal Parker Post #79 Cando American Legion and North Dakota Military Funeral Honors.
