John "Jack" Seghers, 69, Hansboro, ND, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012, 10:30 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Rolla with Fr. Jake Miller, celebrant. Interment will be at the Hansboro Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Fred C. Wagner Post #235, Rolla American Legion and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm with a 7 pm rosary service all at the church and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.  Casket bearers will be: Douglas Seghers, Phillip Seghers, Jim Seghers, Rob Maxwell, Derek Maxwell, Austin Maxwell, Joshua Gable, Adam Gable, John "Tyler" Gable, Bruce Seghers and Jason Seghers. Music will be from Virginia Boucher.

John "Jack" Seghers was born November 20, 1942 in Hansboro, ND, the son of C. Hubert and V. Wilhelmina (Smith) Seghers.  He graduated from Hansboro High School and attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Jack served in the United States Marine Corps for three years. Upon his discharge, he returned home prior to moving to Kansas City, MO where he lived for eight years and then returned to Hansboro where he remained until his death. He owned and operated Jack's Bar, the Old Lumberyard Motel and also served many years as the Mayor of Hansboro.  He was a member of the Fred C. Wagner Post #235, Rolla American Legion.

John "Jack" is survived by his beloved friend, Carol Lamourex and family of Cartwright, Manitoba; daughters:  Deana Cowger of Hansboro, ND, Stacey (Larry) Lackey of Kansas City, MO, Jackie Seghers of Palmyra, WI, Patti Kritzberger and family of Beulah, ND; sisters: Lou, Bonnie (Ken), Toni (Gene) Shelley, Renae (Rob); brothers: Ron, Doug (Louise), Phil (Shirley) and Jim; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Myrna; and brother-in-law Ken Crawford.
