Joyce V. Odegaard, 96, of Cando, ND formerly of Westhope, ND, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Towner County Living Center in Cando.  A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Westhope Cemetery.

Joyce was born on November 21, 1927 in Perth, North Dakota to Richard and Josephine (Halvorson) Schaefer.

Joyce is survived by one son, Gayle and his wife Ginger of Ada, MN; 3 grandsons, Patrick and his wife Carla of Surprise, AZ, Paul and his wife Suzanne of Billings, MT, and Bryan and his wife Jody of Bismarck, ND; 6 great-grandchildren, Madeline Steingaard (Craig) of Fargo, ND, Michael Odegaard of Fargo, ND, Kate Odegaard of Billings, MT, Kersten, Tristen and Rylan Odegaard of Bismarck, ND; Brother Richard (Dude) (Kathy) Schaefer of Cando, ND; Sister Dovie (Larry) Stahn of Emo, Ontaria; Sister-in-Law Vivian Helland of Rapid City, SD; Brother-In-Law Clayton Odegaard of Lake Havasu City, AZ and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce's family would like to take this opportunity to express their appreciation for all the acts of kindness shown to Joyce and to them over the years, and especially over the past several months.
