Obituary

Katie Ann Rader Snyder, 26, of Rugby, ND died July 2nd, 2012 of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Katie was born February 4th, 1986 in Cando, to Gary and Nancy Rader. Katie joined sister, Beth and brother, John, and later became a big sister to Annie. Katie was an outgoing, talkative girl and everyone was "my friend." She tried basketball and volleyball in school, but soon realized she was just not an athlete. Katie loved music, sang in the choir, played clarinet, and competed in speech events. Outside of school, Katie was active in 4-H, as a member of the Towner County Young Riders Horse Club.

Katie also had a passion for Youth for Christ, where she met Sean Snyder. They married and had two boys, Steven and Caidin, who were the light and loves of her life. In marriage, they lived in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Hazen, ND. Katie recently made a new home for her and her sons in Rugby, ND. She loved her job at Rockin' Relics Café and enrolled in an online medical coding program through Dakota College at Bottineau. Despite her admitted athletic challenges she was having a ball being a part of the 3rd St. Station women's softball team.  She was an avid reader and innately creative, being a self taught knitter, sewer and crafter, finding great joy in making personalized gifts. Katie shared a new found love in Jesse Slaubaugh and his daughter, Lila.  She will be remembered as a silly but true friend, sister, daughter, mom, and aunt with limitless grace and mercy, forever talkative, and always with a smile.

Katie is survived by her two boys,  Steven (6) and Caidin (4), parents, Gary and Nancy (Tveit) Rader, siblings:  Beth (Eric) Nordmark, Brody & Brandon;  John Rader (Michele), Haley & Grant;  & Annie Rader, paternal grandparents, Charles and Dorothy (Held) Rader, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Oliver and Pauline (Tafelmeyer) Tveit, and uncle, David Tveit.

My deepest and sincerest condolences to you and your family.  I cannot even to begin to know the grief you have in your hearts right now and am so very sorry for your loss.  I knew Katie when she lived in Florida.  My daughter, Jordan babysat the boys the few times.  I remember Katie always with a smile, even at times when she was not the happiest.  She was always positive and fun to be with.  We were able to stay in touch after her move but it was not as often.  Katie was and will always be remembered as a beautiful happy girl and a great Mom.  She really loved those boys.  I know these words may be of much comfort but your family provided a light in the world that brought joy and happiness to others........

I'm so sorry to hear of Katie's passing. I keep thinking back to remembering Katie and the many moments from high school, and the one thing that I can always remember about her is her laugh. She always seemed to have a smile on her face and very upbeat person. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family. Take comfort in knowing that she is with God, and remember he only calls the best home.

Katie,

You will be missed on this side of Heaven. We will treasure your smiles and laugh, the way you were able to see the bright side of things, your love for the Lord Jesus and your boys.

The last time we were together your boys were the center of the conversation. They were the second light in your life. Your joy was boundless and yes, forever true.

We love you and will miss you. This is not "goodbye," but a true "see you later."

Until we meet again in Heaven,

Alycia, Brian, & Corbin Walker
