Leroy D. "Bub" Stebleton, 85, of Cando, ND passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando, ND with Fr. Daniel Musgrave celebrating the mass. Visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00PM Friday, October 22, 2016 at the church with a 7:00PM Rosary followed by a 7:30PM Vigil Service. Burial will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cando, ND. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Music will be provided by Gladys Fluge, Tom Freund and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir. Military Honors will be provided by the Hal Parker Post #79 Cando American Legion and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team. Casket bearers will be Royal Raddohl, Steve Price, Justin Price, Roger Rance, Bob Knutson and David Lagein.

Leroy D. Stebleton was born August 20, 1931 in Egeland, ND to Willis and Opal (Price) Stebleton. He attended country school for a short period before helping his father full time on the family farm. Leroy enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 18. After being honorably discharged from the service, Leroy returned home to farm the family farmstead.

Leroy married Elaine Picard on November 29, 1969 in Dunseith, ND. The couple moved onto his family's farmstead and continued to farm the land until Leroy's retirement in 2008. They then moved into Cando, ND where they have resided ever since. Leroy was a member of the Hal Parker Post #79 Cando America Legion and was also a member of a Bicycle Club in Mesa, AZ where the couple has wintered for the last 22 years.

Leroy enjoyed hiking in the desert and traveling all over the country on tour buses and cruises with his wife, Elaine. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially six handed "500". Leroy had a great love for his sons and grandchildren and enjoyed camping with their families as often as they could.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elaine; sons, Keith (Tracy) Stebleton of Christine, ND and Bennett Stebleton of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Logan Stebleton and McKayla Stebleton of Christine, ND; step-siblings, Bonnie, Janice and Lorne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Opal (Price) Stebleton; step-mother, Esther Stebleton; siblings, Emory, Betty and Doris.
