Obituary

Lois Larson, 92, of Bisbee, ND passed away on Thursday December 1, 2022 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Bisbee Lutheran Church in Bisbee, ND with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando with Pastor Rob Buechler officiating and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday. The burial will take place at Bisbee Lutheran Cemetery in the Spring.

Lois was born on September 27, 1930 to Fred and Mabel Held at the parents' home in Sorenson Township, Towner County, Bisbee ND.  Lois grew up in Bisbee and on the family farm, with her brother Bartley, north and east of Bisbee ND.

She graduated from Bisbee High School and then worked briefly for the Towner County Soil Conservation District.  Upon marrying Jack R. Larson on October 16, 1949, in Bisbee ND, they made their home on the farm north of Bisbee and resided there until her passing.

Lois began her career as a homemaker, becoming an extraordinary farm wife, baker, cook, designing and making cakes for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, baptisms, as well as a seamstress and knitter.  She volunteered in the community through her charter membership and leadership of the GFWC Vistarian Club of Bisbee, worked on committees for community improvement projects, held offices in the women's organization of the Bisbee Curling Club, served on the centennial and bi-centennial committees for Bisbee, Towner County and the ND Centennial writings and celebrations.

She was a member of Bisbee Lutheran Church, was active and a leader in the Bisbee Lutheran Church Women, held offices in the Bible Study Circle, taught Sunday School, served as superintendent and was a substitute church secretary.  Lois was a member on the Bisbee Lutheran Church Centennial History Book Committee where she helped write the 100-year history. She also attended numerous conferences and conventions locally and nationally including the Constituting Convention of the ELCA Women.

Lois is survived by her husband, Jack, Bisbee ND; children, Craig (Barb) Larson, Hawley, MN; Kevin (Donna) Larson, Custer, SD; Cindy Kae (Gerald) Johnson, Bemidji, MN; Kirk (Tammy) Larson, Bisbee, ND; Clayton (Jane) Larson, Hawley, MN; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Held, and 6 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mabel Held; her brother, Bartley Held; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Larson; and two great grandsons, Jameson Larson and Sawyer Larson.

Lois was truly devoted to family and friends.  She was loved and respected by many.

Memorials are preferred in Lois's name to the donor's choice.
