Obituary

Lola Jean Dease, 76, of Munich, ND passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Towner County Living Center in Cando. A service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at All Nations Lutheran Church in Rock Lake, ND. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The burial will be at All Nations Lutheran Cemetery in Rock Lake. Casket bearers are Lola's grandsons: Isak Dease, Dilan Peebles, Chase Peebles, Albert Dease, Ethan Dease, Joshua Harper, Matthew Harper, and Andrew Harper.  Honorary casket bearers are Lola's granddaughters: Kayla Dease, Brenna Dease, Marisa Peebles, Sydney Dease, and Emma Dease. Music will be provided by Lisa Held and Stacy Soukup.

Memorials are preferred to All Nations Lutheran Cemetery Fund, 6617 89 th St. NE, Rock Lake, ND 58365 or Cavalier County Cancer Crusaders, Choice Financial c/o Mickey Cain, 210 8 th Ave., Langdon, ND 58249.

Due to Covid-19, the following CDC recommendations are highly encouraged: social distancing, hand cleansing and sanitization, and wearing masks. Please stay home if you are not feeling well or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

Lola Jean Goertzen was born on February 1, 1944 in Langdon, ND, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Westphal) Goertzen. She grew up in the Clyde, ND area and graduated from Clyde High School. She attended Mayville Teachers College and taught in Rock Lake. Lola was united in marriage to James Dease on October 22, 1965 in Munich, ND. The couple lived on the farm and Lola substitute taught in the communities of Rock Lake, Belcourt, and Munich. The couple moved to Munich in 2006 and Lola remained there until 2018 when she moved to Towner County Living Center in Cando.

Lola enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and quilting with the Munich Church Ladies. She was a member of the All Nations Lutheran Church in Rock Lake.

Lola is survived by her children: Mark (Laura) Dease of Munich, Lana (Chuck) Peebles of Calvin, ND, and Paul (Carrie) Dease of Cibolo, TX; grandchildren: Kayla, Brenna and Isak Dease, Dilan, Chase and Marissa Peebles, Sydney, Albert, Emma and Ethan Dease, Joshua, Matthew, and Andrew Harper; sister: Donna Harder of LeSeuer, MN; brother: Dale Goertzen of Devils Lake, ND; sister-in-law: Iona Dease of Gilbert, AZ; and nephew: Coleton Von Roeder.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers-in-laws: Chuck Von Roeder and Dan Harder.
