Marilyn Anderson, 90, of Cando ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at HIA Hospice in Fargo, ND. A Family Service will be held at a later date.

Marilyn was born on August 27, 1935, to Alvin and Betty Hornbacher and grew up in Butte, North Dakota with her brothers, Lloyd and James. After graduating high school, she attended Minot State Teacher's College. While teaching in McClusky, she met Allen Anderson through his sister JoAnne. Allen and Marilyn were married and lived in Bisbee before moving to Cando with their children, Erik and Elizabeth.

Marilyn was active in many local women's clubs and the Cando Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her family, gardening, holidays and making others feel special.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Anderson, her brother, James Hornbacher, and her parents, Alvin and Betty Hornbacher.

She is survived by her brother Lloyd Hornbacher; children Erik (Laurel) Anderson and Elizabeth (Perry) Anderson Bogardus; grandchildren Roscoe (Sara Wiederholt) Boatman, Beth (Daren) Brekkestran, Lindsay Bogardus, Jarrod (Christina) Bogardus; great grandsons Anders Brekkestran and David Bogardus; nieces Brenda Olsen, Amy Thrush, Sara Bader, Shelly Nicholson, and Nancy Bohn, and their families; and nephews Mark Hornbacher, Jon Hornbacher, Winston Lord, John Lord, Paul Curl, and Bill Curl, and their families.
