Marjorie Ann Johnston age 89 of Cando, ND passed away Friday, October 9, 2020. A private family service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 with Rev. Bonnie Weaver officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando, ND.

Marjorie was born May 18, 1931 in Cando, ND to Herbert and Minnie (Hanson) Baeverstad.  Marjorie attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  While there she sang for many events and continued singing throughout her life.

On July 22, 1951 Marjorie married Harvey D. Johnston of Rolla, ND.  They were married for 62 years.  The couple farmed in the Cando area until they retired and enjoyed spending 13 winters in Texas.  Marjorie was active in Cando Lutheran Church by teaching Sunday School, Bible School, Circle and WELCA.

Marjorie is survived by her son Michael (Joleen) Johnston of Cando, ND; daughters Lisa (Rick) Soggie of Fargo, ND, Julie (Randy) Lemm of Hillsboro, ND and Nancy Jo (Larry) Kropp of Jamestown ND; grandchildren Calli Ann (David) Larson , Great Grandchildren Sawyer and Reese Larson of Clearbrook, MN; Elli (Luke) Ressler of Hillsboro, ND, Anna (Fiancé, Troy Wiegandt) Lemm of West Fargo, ND, Jill Johnston of West Fargo, ND and Andrew Nugent of Brookings, SD.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, her Parents, Sister Eileen (Robert) Corcoran and Brother Harold (Sally) Baeverstad.
