Mark was born March 19, 1982, to Ron and JoAnn (Wilcox) Rodenbiker in Cando, ND. He graduated from Rock Lake High School in 2000. Mark subsequently graduated from North Dakota State University with honors with a degree in electrical engineering. His early career as an engineer was spent at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, IA. Mark returned to Rocklake in 2009 to help his parents with Lil' Prairie Greenhouse and discovered a passion for horticulture. He spent the past 14 years helping people across the Northern Prairies design their growing spaces.
Mark loved the arts, sciences, and life-long learning. He loved his friends across the world, the community of Rock Lake, and traveling and exploring new places. He loved people, being loquacious, and truly wanted the best for everyone. (If you're wondering what loquacious means, he loved etymology). Mark was a fountain of knowledge and a friend to everyone he met.
One of Mark's greatest joys was spending time with his nieces and nephew, cooking, planting, sharing his knowledge, encouraging learning, and telling jokes. He and his siblings remained best friends for life.
Mark is survived by his parents Ron and JoAnn Rodenbiker; siblings John and Erika Rodenbiker, Luke Rodenbiker, Paul & Christina Rodenbiker, and Mary & Kevin Martin; Nieces and Nephew Liz & Jack Rodenbiker, Olivia & Emma Martin, and Lyra Rodenbiker.
Honorary Urn bearers are: the BFF Crew, ND Farmers Union Camp Staff, Rocklake First Responders, Ross Hendrickson, and Pete Sterk.
