Mary Ann Louise Holsinger, 84, Mayville, ND, formerly Sarles, ND, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Devils Lake, ND with Pastor Tom Westcott officiating. Visitation will start one hour prior to the service. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Mary Ann's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Music will be provided by JoDee Lagein. Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 4:15 PM at the Sarles Cemetery in Sarles, ND. Memorials are preferred to North Dakota ALA Girls State, c/o Lauren Hillebrand, 2130 9th Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721.

Mary Ann was born December 14, 1933 to Rosa and Godfrey Baumgartner at Hannah, ND. Their family moved to Sarles, ND in 1943, where she attended school and later met the love of her life, Lee Holsinger. They were married on June 7, 1951 and six children were born and welcomed into the family.

Mary Ann was a proud member of the Sarles unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, holding many of the local offices and was also elected District 3 president for two years, during this time attending the National Convention in Hawaii and Chicago. Mary Ann was appointed to the Flickertail Girls State Board, a position she held for 12 years and thoroughly enjoyed.

Lee Holsinger passed away on September 13, 1968. Mary Ann continued living on the family farm, spending winters in Devils Lake, until moving to Angel Heights in Devils Lake in 2010. She was currently a resident at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughters: Zella Hoffart of Devils Lake, ND, Holly Duciaume of Red Lake Falls, MN, Leta Holsinger of Mayville, ND and Connie Baxter and her husband Richard of Clay Center, KS; grandchildren, Shannon Horton, Darren Horton, Laurie Horton-Senger (Brent), Christine Holsinger-Distefano, John Holsinger, Rob Johnston (Stacey), Matthew (Melissa) Baxter and Abby (Darrin) Smith; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren and one on the way and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, sons Zane Holsinger & Rex Holsinger, her parents, sister Arlene Wertz & her husband, Bill, brothers Ed, Leo, Tony, Bob & his wife Barbara, and her nephew Gary Ringham, who was raised with the family, granddaughter, Yvette (Duciaume) Boutain & great granddaughter Jaimie Senger.
