Matthew Keith Hendrickson, 39, Bisbee, ND was called to rest on May 16, 2023, surrounded by his family. His passing left a great void in the lives of his family and friends.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 5:00 PM with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.

Matt was born in Rugby, ND on March 25, 1984. He attended Bisbee-Egeland schools and graduated in 2003. Matt worked several jobs in his lifetime, such as custom combining, working on Grandpa Jack's farm, oil field work and for the company Strata. Something called him away from all that. Matt always had a love for trucking and was at Grandpa Gordon's shop every chance he got. He learned his way around a truck in no time and was often joking with the long haulers when they came in. Soon this love transformed into a steady job for Matt and he worked for his grandpa and his father. He eventually set out on his own. His trucking led him to the love of his life, Alisha (Jensen) and they soon married in 2007. Together they had six beautiful children, Wyatt and Hailey, Riley, Dillynn, Emery and Madison. Through good times and bad, they stuck together raising their family and making wonderful memories.

Matt's love for the outdoors knew no bounds. Hunting for deer sheds was one of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed fishing with the kids, family bon fires and country cruising.

In spite of all that Matt accomplished, he was diagnosed in 2018 with congestive heart failure. His spirit, positive attitude and contagious laugh could not be dimmed by this progressive disease. Sadly, it took him from us in May.

We will all miss Matthew, but none so much as his family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Tina (Meyer) Hendrickson, grandparents Gordon and Gerry (Hartl) Hendrickson and Eugene and Mary Lou (Erickson) Meyer. He is survived by his wife Alisha (Jensen) Hendrickson, children Wyatt and Hailey, Riley, Dillynn, Emery and Madison, his father, Keith Hendrickson, sister Kayla (Ben) Edwards, and niece Henley Edwards along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Rest in peace, Weegee.
