Mavis L. Nass, 81, of Cando, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at the Towner County Medical Center in Cando.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Cando Lutheran Church in Cando, ND with Rev. Bonnie Weaver officiating.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Music will be from Dick and Lynette Lybeck.

Mavis Clark was born October 29, 1932 in Grano, ND to Roy L. and Ada (Anderson) Clark. She graduated from Lansford High School and then attended Beauty College in Bismarck, ND. She worked as a beautician in Crosby and Bottineau, ND. She met Melvin Nass in Bottineau. The couple was united in marriage on March 8, 1955 in Devils Lake, ND. They moved to Cando and lived and worked on the farm. Melvin passed away on June 3, 1998. Mavis then moved into Cando and made it her home until the time of her passing.  She was a very active member of the Cando Lutheran Church and homemakers club.

Mavis is survived by her sons Ray (Donna) Nass of Wasillia, AK and Fred Nass of Rhame, ND; grandchildren: Korey and Kaylee Nass of Anchorage, AK; brothers: Roy (Marge) Clark of Williston, ND; Harold (Carole) Clark of Sherwood, ND; sisters: Ethel Flom of Hastings, MN and Helen Sandy of Westhope, ND.

Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers: Burt and Jim Clark.

Thinking of Ray, Fred and the rest of the family in the passing of my dear Aunt Mavis.  She was a wonderful, kind-hearted woman and I was proud to call her my aunt. You will be dearly missed, Mavis, and our hearts are heavy in learning of your passing.  We can find comfort in knowing you are now reunited with your dear mother, Ada Clark, your brothers, Burton and James, and your husband, Melvin. We carry such great memories of all the family picnics at Oak Park, visiting you during Easter when we were young kids, and all the fun times out at Grandma Ada's farm.  We will cherish all of those memories and hold them dear to our hearts.  God Bless.
