Norman C. Jorgenson, 82, of Cando, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND.
Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND with Rev. Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Cando.
Norman was born April 17, 1932 in Devils Lake, to Jorgen and Olga (Wick) Jorgenson. He graduated from High School at Cando, spending the next 4 years in the Navy, afterwards attending NDSSS, receiving an Electronics Technology degree. Norman married Betty Hager of Devils Lake, who tragically passed away months later. Norman married Hermoine Anderson of Minnewaukan, and together they had 6 children, Kirk, Scott, Penny, Bruce, Wendy, and Cyndi; and three grand-daughters, Emily (Wendy), Caitlyn and Alex (Cyndi). Norman married Pamela Wilkie of Rolla, ND. Pamela had 1 child, Wanda, 3 grandchildren, Stacie, Richanda, and J.R. Frederick, and has had several descendants since. Pamela sadly passed away in 2005. Norman worked as an electrical journeyman for many years; and later worked with Pamela as an apartment manager, among other jobs, until his retirement. Norman enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, visiting with friends and his ever-expanding family, telling jokes, listening to radio programs, and watching the history channel and sports.
Norman is survived by 2 brothers, Arnold of Fargo, Jim of Cando, and one sister Clarice (Ben) Parkhouse, of Casselton; children Kirk Jorgenson of New Rockford, Scott and Bruce Jorgenson of Bismarck, Penny Axtman of Mekinock, Wendy (Paul) McCarthy of Charlotte, NC, and Cyndi (Kelly) Abbott of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren Emily McCarthy, Caitlyn and Alex Abbott; many nieces and nephews; step-daughter Wanda (Richard) Frederick of Cando; and many step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
Norman was predeceased by his parents; wives Betty and Pamela; ex-wife Hermoine; brothers Stanley and Floyd; and two infant brothers.
