Ronald E. Tschepen, 82, of Bisbee, ND, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.  Vigil Service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home Chapel in Cando, ND.  Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service.  Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Bisbee.   In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Farm Rescue P.O. Box 28 Horace, ND 58047.

Ronald Edward Tschepen was born on May 17th 1942, the eldest of three sons of Lavina (Miller) and Edward Tschepen.  He was born in Rolla, ND and was raised on the family farm in Bisbee, ND.  Ron was proud to have been a team member of the Mylo Midgets baseball team who won the first-ever North Dakota State Babe Ruth Championship in 1956.  After graduating high school in Bisbee in 1961, Ron went on to attend North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.  After graduating in 1964 he put his newfound electrician skills to work with Otter Tail Power Company.

Following his love of aviation and flying, Ron joined the Air National Guard in 1965 for a 6-yr term with the 119th Supply Squadron, 119th Fighter Group in Fargo, ND. He also obtained a private pilot's license while still in high school.

In 1967 Ron and Gerry (Christopherson) married, starting their family in Oakes, ND and moving to Milbank, SD in 1973.  Ron was an avid supporter of his two daughters' high school Basketball careers, rarely missing a game and filming many.  Later, he was an avid fan watching as many of his grandchildren's hockey games as he could.  In 1989 after 26 years with Otter Tail Power Company as the Electrical Foreman at the Big Stone Power Plant in Big Stone, SD, he moved back to Bisbee, ND fulfilling his dream of Farming.  Ron lived the dream with his last harvest in the fall of 2023.

Ron is survived by his wife Gerry and two daughters Kimberly and Sandra; 4 grandchildren; and two brothers Leo and Alvin.  Ron is preceded in death by his parents.
